My Hair Secret was founded in Lancashire, England by Scientist,  Emma Procter and she knows exactly how you feel!

After experiencing problems with her own hair, Emma began researching products and ingredients to find a solution for her problem. 

 

Emma also suffers from a condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which contributed to her hair problem and she found that there was more and more hair coming out when washing and brushing each day. Emma says, "It is a disturbing thing to see your hair thinning, I understand myself how this knocks your confidence. You are trying to carry on as normal, working, socialising, enjoying family time, but you are always self-conscious about your hair. I have encountered people with a variety of hair issues and it is amazing and concerning to see the lengths that some people go to to hide their hair problems before they come for help." 

After researching various solutions to hair loss, Emma found that many other people were looking for a similar solution. She found that many offerings on the market were not suitable for those with dietary issues such as dairy and wheat intolerance. Many products contain collagen sourced from Marine animals such as Sharks or other animal derived ingredients. Our founder decided to make a unique product that was suitable for everyone, ethical and that was drug free but still effective in maintaining healthy hair growth.   

During her research, Emma found a possible link between a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and hair loss. A sensitivity to this hormone may cause miniaturisation of the hair follicles. She found that sensitivity is hereditary and may increase as we age. This finding was the catalyst for creating the unique blend "Lustalox", a blend which includes ingredients that have been reported to inhibit the formation of Dihydrotestosterone. Emma's research found that other, drug containing treatments that addressed this issue generally came with some really nasty side effects or were only suitable for men. The Hair Boost supplements are 100% drug free, suitable for both men and women and is the only product in the world to contain this unique "Lustalox" blend. Biotin:

Biotin is a B vitamin and supports Healthy Hair, Skin, and Nails. Biotin is an important nutrient for healthy hair, nails, and skin and it has been reported that a deficiency this can lead to hair thinning.

 

Lustalox:

My Hair Secret is the ONLY brand on the market to contain the powerful blend "Lustalox". This blend contains nutrients reported to protect the hair follicle from DHT hormone damage. Lustalox also contains beneficial antioxidants, flavonoids, linoleic acid, Vitamin E and OPCs (oligomeric proanthocyanidins). The last two constituents have been reported to stop hair loss and promote hair regrowth.

 

Zinc:

It is reported that zinc deficiency actually can lead to deterioration of the protein structure that makes up the hair follicle. Copper peptides have been reported to inhibit DHT, the hormone that could contribute to hair loss. Copper promotes proper growth, is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, which helps to keep the scalp healthy.​

 

Vitamin D3:

There is evidence that having a vitamin D deficiency does cause hair loss and other hair problems. Vitamin D stimulates hair follicles to grow, and so when the body does not have enough, the hair may be affected.
